Sunday, February 7 - Annual Parish Meeting
The Annual Parish Meeting this year will take place on Sunday Feb. 7, beginning at the 10:00 service. In addition to voting for vestry members and discussing our budget, this year's annual meeting will include updates from four committees that have been working on implementing all the great ideas from last year's meetings about renewal and growth.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper - February 16
Our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper hosted by the Stoddards will be on Tuesday, February 16th. Pancakes, sausages, and fresh fruit cups will be served from 6-7:15pm, followed by festivities with a piñata and a King & Queen's cake! Look for sign-up sheets at church in the upcoming weeks. Suggested Door Donations: $6/adults, $3/children under 10, $20 maximum/family.
 

February 17 - Ash Wednesday – services at 12 noon and 7 p.m.

 
Lenten Study
Marcus Borgs's Conversations with Scripture: The Gospel of Mark, is the February book of the month and will be the focus of this years Lenten study. the first meeting will be Wednesday, February 24th in the evening (exact time TBA). Soup and bread will be served. The group will meet every Wednesday evening through the month of March. For more information, contact Barbie Hart.

Movie Night!
Save the Date!  On February 26th, the youth will be having a movie, pizza and popcorn night at the church. Contact Tammy Retalic for more information.
 
Interfaith Book and Dialogue Group
A local interfaith book and dialogue group is looking for participants from our church. They meet once a month at Temple Shir Tikva or Islamic Center on Sundays after services. This month they are reading the book "The Faith Club - A Muslim, A Christian, A Jew - Three Women Search for Understanding."

The next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 7th (the same time as our Annual Meeting). So, please pencil in the following meeting, which will be March 7th, most likely beginning at 1:15pm at the Islamic Center. Reading the book is not a requirement for new members.
 
Men's Prayer Group
The Men's Prayer Group usually meets once each month on a weekday evening from September through June.  Each meeting begins with a sometimes wide-ranging discussion of personal concerns, community issues, or concerns of the parish and ends with a reading of the service of Compline from the Book of Common Prayer. Contact Jim Metcalf for more information. Next Meeting: Tuesday, February 23rd at 8pm.
 
Women's Prayer Group
The Women's Prayer Group is a fledgling group that currently meets weekly on Wednesday mornings at 8:00am. New members needed! Join Gina Poole, Barbie Hart and others for this alternative morning prayer group.
 
Crafters Group
A group of sewers, cross stitchers, and knitters has been meeting at CHS between 10 am and noon on weekdays convenient to those in attendance.  Their hope is to carry on the fellowship begun in previous years when new hangings were made for the sanctuary and a patchwork quilt was assembled as a raffle item for the Spring Fair. The gathering is open to anyone with some sort of needle craft project. Contact Marcy Kudirka for more information.
 
Spring Learning Event: Claiming Discipleship
 
Join the diocesan community for the annual Spring Learning Event, “Claiming Discipleship,” on Saturday, March 6, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., at the George Sherman Union at Boston University.  The day’s program will include a morning presentation by the Rev. Chip Stokes, Rector of St. Paul’s Church in Delray Beach, Fla., on understanding the evolving stages of faith life and how our congregations can meet the needs of longtime churchgoers and newcomers alike.  After lunch, participants will have their choice of workshops, with the entire community then meeting together for a closing time with Bishop M. Thomas Shaw, SSJE.
