About Church of the Holy Spirit

Our Mission: The work of the Church of the Holy Spirit is to offer a mission-focused community of God to people in Wayland and MetroWest, and partner with our Diocese and other organizations for ministry in our world.  Through uplifting worship, engaging religious formation, and timely mission initiatives we invite people into deeper relationship with God and one another.  We support the ecumenical and interreligious cooperation of Wayland's diverse religious congregations, and offer our sanctuary in the woods as inspiration to all for faithful stewardship of God's gifts.

Church of the Holy Spirit is the Wayland parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, the Rev. Doctor Frederick P. Moser, Rector. The Diocese of Massachusetts is the largest diocese of the Episcopal Church in the United States, made up of more than 190 parishes in eastern Massachusetts, the Rt. Rev. M. Thomas Shaw, Bishop.

Church of the Holy Spirit comprises some 120 families from MetroWest Boston. Our church is located on ten acres of beautiful, wooded land amongst tall pine trees on Rice Road in Wayland, halfway between Rt. 30 and Old Connecticut Path. Our church is handicapped accessible.

The Holy Eucharist is celebrated every Sunday and coffee hour for all ages is held each Sunday after the service. Sunday school is offered throughout the school year and childcare is provided for infants and toddlers. Occasional adult forums are held after Sunday services and during Lent. Additional services of worship and other programs are offered for the seasons of the Christian Liturgical year.

The ministry of our parish is carried out through the commissions of the Vestry. Our parish has particularly strong ministries in the areas of Outreach, Christian Education, and Liturgy and Music. We have a strong sense of community and caring for both parishioners and those beyond the parish's doors.

The Wayland Peoples Group, an Alcoholics Anonymous group, meets in the Church Parish Hall every Saturday evening at 7 PM.
