As Christians, we believe that God is the source
of everything we have and that Christ died so that we might share in
God's ultimate gift of salvation and eternal life.
Stewardship is our way of responding to God's faithfulness to us. By
accepting God's gifts, we also acknowledge our responsibility to
care for God's world by loving each other and serving each other in
Christ's name.
Collectively, we commit ourselves and our time, talent and treasures
to carry out Christ's vision for justice, peace, and love on earth.
Individually, we pledge to give freely of ourselves and participate
as fully as possible in doing this work. We offer our prayers and
reflection so that we may reach a deeper awareness of our God-given
blessings and understand more fully our call as stewards of God's
church.
We invite our fellow Christians to join us in our journey to know
Christ's love through stewardship. We call on all Christians to
share stories of Christ's impact in their lives, so that we may all
find the inspiration to respond to God's call.
In order for each of us to develop spiritually we must continuously
reflect on the stewardship of our church family and its mission. The
CHS Vestry and Rector have put together several resources to help
guide you with this type of reflection.
The
Religious Inventory Worksheet focuses on the the five T's of
Stewardship: Tithing, Time, Talent, Treasure and Talk, asking you to
reflect on your stewardship to the church in each of these areas.
Because religious and spiritual growth is
personal, this worksheet is for personal use. Because religious and
spiritual growth is also life-long, this worksheet is meant to be
used throughout your life. Please use this worksheet to deepen your
commitment and willingness to understand and live Gods’ Word and
your Baptismal Covenant.
The guide on
How to Talk about Stewardship focuses on the idea of
stewardship as the main work of the Church and the primary vocation
of every Christian. Using language and concepts from the Book of
Common Prayer and the Bible, this guide provides tools on how to
speak about stewardship as a Christian.
From time to time, members of our parish give talks on the five T's
of Stewardship.
This reflection was given by Jim Metcalf. In it, he
shares his thoughts on the Stewardship of Talk.
How your Financial Gift Helps CHSFinancial pledges to CHS represent our promise to
God that throughout the year, we will take the money God has granted us and offer it in God's service.
Only through our collective efforts can we create a Parish where
worship, fellowship, outreach, and education can flourish. Your
gift:
*Shelters our community and supports Christian education
*Spreads the Gospel with the help of our rector, music director,
parish administrator, and lay ministers
*Supports fellow Christians and all people in need and distress
worldwide
We are God's arms, hands, and shoulders, and we must use our
financial resources in service to others.
At CHS we depend on pledges from all our members. We ask your
prayerful consideration of your pledge to our church. Our expenses
increase each year, as we seek to meet the needs of our community.
