CHS offers two tracks for our growing youth
education program. For Pre-K through grade four, we offer Godly Play, a
Montessori-based method of teaching sacred stories and parables through
play and wondering.
Members of our Y outh Group (for grades 5 and
Up)
take many active roles i n our Church's worship,
go on periodic trips together and participate in other activities - such as a trip to the
Museum of Science Planetarium, helping to organize a fundraiser
Spaghetti Dinner and hiking trips. Also, the Youth Group members
take part in Rev. Fred's monthly confirmation classes (described below).

Volunteers are needed to staff our youth education
programs, so, if you are interested in participating with this important
ministry, please
e-mail
Kara Brewton if you can
help in Godly Play or lead a youth event. If you have questions
about the Youth Group, e-mail
Tammy Retalic.

Children are always welcome and often invited to participate actively in
CHS worship services - since the liturgy of the Church is itself a way
of teaching important truths. On weeks when Sunday School does not meet, our
Celebrant delivers special sermons in which children are invited to the
altar for a discussion relating to the day's lessons.
We encourage children especially to attend Baptism services in which we
renew our Baptismal vows and joyously welcome new members to our
community of Christ.
Throughout the calendar year, CHS also features child-friendly Family
Liturgies, in lieu of Sunday School, where we emphasize the power and
joy that can be found in community worship.
Confirmation classes are held from
11:30-12:45 on select Sundays and are led by our Rector, The Rev. Fred
Moser. The dates of confirmation classes for 2011-2012 are:
Oct 2nd
Nov 6th
December 4th
January 8th
February 5th
March 11th
April 8th
Contact Rev. Moser for more details.
Children ages 8 - 16 are encouraged to serve as Acolytes in CHS worship
service. E-mail our Rector the Rev. Dr. Frederick P. Moser directly to
enroll your children in this wonderful youth liturgical ministry.
Church of the Holy Spirit is dedicated to providing a Safe Church
environment for all parishioners, especially for our young ones. We
require Sunday School teachers and youth ministers to be CORI checked
and also to complete Safe Church training courses with the
Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.
